Abstract

El mundo de la novela gráfica cada día cobra más importancia, tanto en librerías como en editoriales y en el mundo del libro. Cada vez hay más gente interesada en novelas que se representan visualmente, y que no son catalogadas como el típico cómic que ya conocemos la gran mayoría. Estos libros pueden abrir una puerta muy importante de interés social, económico y el más importante: de impacto cultural. A través de una oportunidad que se nos brinda, tenemos la posibilidad de llevar a cabo un proyecto de un libro ilustrado. “Una pena” es un cuento original de Paloma Balandis, una cuentacuentos experta en la narración oral y la educación de los más pequeños. A través de un audio que Paloma nos facilita, podemos descubrir una historia preciosa que desde el primer momento reconocimos que era la oportunidad perfecta para convertirla en un libro ilustrado. Con el debido trabajo y los pasos adecuados, llegamos a conseguir crear un prototipo del libro, que podría ser capaz de llegar a un público mucho más amplio, e incluso a unos clientes que no tenían antes la posibilidad de conocer la historia de primera mano, ya fuera por su rango de edad, por alguna incapacidad auditiva, o por cualquier situación desfavorable. Convertimos entonces esta oportunidad en una realidad y junto al libro ilustrado, pudimos crear un sello editorial exclusivamente dedicado a las novelas gráficas tanto infantiles como juveniles y adultas, donde darle una oportunidad a autores e ilustradores canarios será la prioridad de la marca. En la realización del trabajo, se ha podido trabajar la creación de la marca, del libro ilustrado y de las campañas de promoción de ambos.

The world of the graphic novel is becoming more and more important, both in bookstores and in publishers and the world of books. There are more and more people interested in novels that are represented visually, and that are not cataloged as the usual “comic book” that the vast majority already know. These books can open a very important door of social, economic interest and the most important: cultural impact. Through an opportunity that we are given, we have the possibility of carrying out a project of an illustrated book. “Una pena” is an original story by Paloma Balandis, a storyteller expert in oral narration and the education of children. Through an audio that Paloma makes allow us to hear, we can discover a beautiful story that we recognized from the first moment that it was the perfect opportunity to turn it into an illustrated book. With the right work and the right steps, we’ll be able to create a prototype of the book, which might be able to reach a much larger audience, and even customers who previously didn’t have the chance to hear the story first-hand, either due to their age range, due to some hearing disability, or due to any unfavorable situation. We then turned this opportunity into a reality and together with the illustrated book, we were able to create a publishing label dedicated exclusively to graphic novels for children, youth and adults, where giving Canarian authors and illustrators a chance will be the brand’s priority. In carrying out the work, it has been possible to work on the creation of the brand, the illustrated book and the promotion campaigns of both.
