K1 Formación profesional K1 Educación física K1 Modelo de educación deportiva AB Education models in the field of physical education have evolved from a teachercentred perspective to one that focuses on the role of the learner as an active part of theteaching-learning process, promoting their degree of autonomy. The choice of ateaching model is a fundamental variable to improving the student motivation. For thisreason and due to the scarce research on the application of new methodologies in thefield of vocational training, the purpose of this study is to know the motivation ofstudents in this context through the use of the Sport Education (SE) model. In addition, the aim is to learn about the transfer of this learning model to the professional practiceof sports instructors. The study take into account 16 students (2 females and 14 males)from the first year of the training cycle of Higher Technician in Physical and SportsActivities Animation and was developed during 3 sessions of 4 hours each. Severalinstruments were used to gather t data, using a standardised questionnaire applied tostudents before and after the intervention, an ad hoc questionnaire completed bystudents at the end of the experience, a focus group carried out at the end of theinnovation and a semi-structured self-report for each session. The data are analysed inrelation to the objectives set out in this paper, and students motivation in relation to theuse of the SE model is improved, thus their positive assessment of the transfer of themodel to the professional activity of sports entertainer. For these reasons, it can beconcluded that the application of the SE model in the field of vocational training toincrease the motivation of students, is useful for their professional future as sportsinstructors.
