AB This project analyzes the prestige that spanish society gives to the teaching profession,comparing it to the status that it receives in other countries and evaluating the influence that ithas in the quality of an education system. This is priority topic according to the relevance thatis given to education as one of the main supports for the society and its welfare. To this effect,a theoretical review of different scholar projects and articles has been carried out. This literatureallowed us to know evidence and reliable statistics, as well as the assessments ofseveral expertsin this field. The results aim to training, selection and evaluation processes as three majoraspects that, in case of being improved, could have a positive impact in the status of theoccupation. Enhancing the teaching prestige also means increasing the quality of the educationsystem.
