AB Regarding the past economic crises, self-employment has been promotedfrom multiple institutions. This figure has been developing in recent yearswith a special force, reaching all sectors of the economy, attending to thispoint, the roots of this figure will be analyzed and the consequences it ishaving in a labour market that is increasingly unregulated and provides lessprotection for the working class. This research will also search how,through the abuse of this figure, the welfare state is being dangerouslyattacked as a guarantor of social inclusion. In this way, in this work theobjective is to throw light on the different aspects that affect selfemployment, among which are the social class to which one belongs andthe gender of the entrepreneur, since among many other factors, these twoseem be crucial in envisioning whether or not a freelance work project willbe successful.
