A1 Delgado Rodríguez, Saúl K1 Viticultura K1 Vides K1 Malvasía AB Until a few years ago in the Canary Islands a commercial product (Dormex) based on hydrogen cyanamide was used to palliate the shortage of cold winter hours on the Vitis vinifera var. Aromatic Malvasia's plants, which are cultivated in our latitude. After its withdrawal from the market due to toxicity problems, it is essential to have other alternative treatments. Calcium cyanamide (Perlka) has been proven effective in sorne cases, although it is necessary to continue its field trials. In order to obtain similar results to the hydrogen cyanamide, an experimental trial was can-ied out where the aim was to find the effects of calcium cyanamide applied on different dates, types and doses (1kg of calcium cyanamide dissolved in 4 litres of water and 50g of calcium cyanamide /m2 land), after the pruning, in Vitis vinifera L. var. Aromatic Malvasía. To do this, the product was applied and a follow-up was made of different parameters throughout the plants cycle, such as the percentage of sprouted buds, phenological stages, crop yields and analytical parameters (pH, probable alcoholic degree, easily assimilable nitrogen, etc.) that detennined the crop productivity and the quality of the grapes in wine making. To carry out this trial an experimental design in randomized block was used, with 4 repetitions per treatment. The results were submitted to a variance analysis (ANOV A) dividing the average with the Tukey test. Each experimental unit was formed by five strains, using a total of 20 plants to study per treatment.Statistically analyzing the results obtained in the Malvasia variety, under the conditions of the research, the conclusion that can be taken is that applying Perlka 40, a greater percentage of sprouting buds were achieved and that there was a delay in the development of the phenological stages, therefore there was a lower risk of damage to the fruit. The date, dosage and the format in which the Perlka was applied (20, 40 and Earth) did not affect the average crop yield, and it showed similar results in terms of average weight of the bunch and the average weight and volume average of the berry. The analytical parameters of the must (pH, total acidity, likely alcoholic strength, density, relative density and gluconic acid), were similar in all the tested treatments, while the easily assimilable nitrogen was greater when Perlka 40 was applied.
