Design and implementation in the case of the UOC A1 Marco-Simó, Josep Maria A1 Marco-Galindo, Maria Jesús A1 Planas Hortal, Elena A1 García García, María José K1 Curriculum K1 Gender perspective K1 Institutional strategy K1 Transversal competence AB Both the Equality Unit of the Universitat Oberta deCatalunya (UOC) and the Equity Commission of its Faculty ofComputer Science (Estudis d'Informàtica, Multimèdia iTelecomunicació) have been working, among other goals, toensure a gender perspective in teaching. A key element for thishas been the definition of a transversal competence (Ethical andglobal behavior) that includes the gender perspective that shouldbe implemented in all programs. This paper describes the pathfollowed since the appearance of this institutional impulse, itsmaterialization in this competence, and its final linkage to asubset of the courses of the Bachelor's and Master's Degree inComputer Engineering. The reasoning, the phases, theestablished guidelines, as well as the selection of the courses aredetailed. Beyond this theoretical design process, its actualimplementation in all these courses during the 2022-2023academic year is also analyzed. The contrasted result of theproposal is that this is a viable process thanks to some alreadyexisting facilitating factors and the involvement of the interestedgroups, especially the faculty. However, despite this involvement,it still needs additional momentum to consolidate itsimplementation and is not free of contradictions and is not yetmature in all key aspects, including some as relevant as that ofcompetency assessment.
