AB This project aims at investigating the current methods and strategies to practise listeningin the English lessons. The assumption here is that we must try to approach the areas ofinterest of students in order to create a motivational context in the learning process.The study was focused on two groups of 1st of ESO, both defined by a lack ofmotivation when developing listening activities. We began the study with an analysisthat includes the observation of teachers in their different sessions and personalinterviews to teachers. With all this, we designed and implemented several activitiesbased on the selection of correct materials, the importance of the preparation activitiesand the use of ICT’s. The results obtained were highly satisfactory. Likewise, in thisproject improvement proposals are suggested in order to motivate students to participateactively in these types of listening activities.Through these approaches, we seek to improve listening skills in the English classroom.At the same time, and taking into account the importance of the use of ICT’s, thisproject aims to approach the foreign language in a more technological way.
