terapias alternativas. Primary dysmenorrhea consists of spasmodic cramping in the lower abdomen
produced by the uterus from the beginning of menstruation to 72 hours later, in the absence
of a pathologic cause. It’s estimated that its prevalence varies from 67% to 90% of women
in reproductive age, with it being the most frequent gynecological condition. The problem
that arises, together with this high prevalence, is the pain intensity and, therefore, the
negative impact on quality of life. To deal with this, the main treatment is essentially
pharmacological, although women are beginning to show interest in alternative therapies.
