This Final Master's Degree work consists of a documentary review of important aspects
related to Cognition and the role it plays during the learning process in Primary Education, in
this case, of a second language in the subjects where the CLIL perspective is implemented. In
addition, two theories are explored in greater depth to learn more about how the brain works
in different contexts and situations, focusing on the school and the teaching-learning process.
The next aspect that is developed is a bank of activities for different levels and subjects of
Primary Education that deal with the CLIL perspective. It analyses what aspects and
adaptations have been used, relating it to all the documentary information indicated and what
objectives are intended to be achieved with these activities.
To conclude, a final reflection is made on all the work done above and what impact it can
have on the way of teaching in this CLIL perspective and the positive effects it would have in
the short and long term on the students.

relacionados con la Cognition y el papel que juega durante el proceso de aprendizaje en
Educación Primaria, en este caso, de una segunda lengua en las asignaturas donde están
implementadas la perspectiva AICLE. Además, se profundiza sobre dos teorías para conocer
en mayor profundidad como trabaja el cerebro ante diferentes contextos y situaciones,
enfocadas en la escuela y en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje.
El siguiente aspecto que se desarrolla es, un banco de actividades para diferentes niveles y
asignaturas de Educación Primaria que tratan con la perspectiva AICLE. Analizando qué

aspectos y adaptaciones se han empleado, relacionándolo con toda la información documental
señalada y qué objetivos se pretenden conseguir con estas actividades.
Para concluir, se realiza una reflexión final sobre todo el trabajo realizado anteriormente y
qué impacto puede tener en la forma de enseñanza en esta perspectiva AICLE y sus efectos
positivos que tendrían en corto y largo plazo en los estudiantes.

In this Master's Degree Thesis, I have conducted an innovation project that implemented a
situated cognition approach on the CLIL context of elementary education. The main goal
was to apply a series of modern and active methodologies that advocate for quality, realworld learning experiences with a view to the comprehensive development of our students.
The project, called “This is my kamishibai”, was carried out in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade at
CEIP Montaña Roja, in El Médano, Tenerife, Spain.
Following the bibliography collection and results of the project, one of the main conclusions
of this thesis is that, not only are CLIL and situated cognition complementary approaches,
but they are also an ideal fit for Spanish and Canarian educational frameworks and their
respective aims for primary school.

education.; En este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se ha llevado a cabo un proyecto de innovación educativa
que ha implementado el enfoque de cognición situada en el contexto CLIL de educación
primaria. El objetivo principal ha sido adoptar una serie de metodologías modernas que
abogan por experiencias de aprendizaje de calidad, con aplicaciones a la vida real y con
miras al desarrollo integral de nuestro alumnado. El proyecto, denominado “This is my
kamishibai”, se llevó a cabo en los cursos de 1º, 2º, 3º y 4º de primaria en el CEIP Montaña
Roja, en El Médano, Tenerife, España.
Tras la recolección de bibliografía y los resultados del proyecto, una de las conclusiones
principales del trabajo es el hecho de que los enfoques de CLIL y cognición situada son, no
solo complementarios, sino que además son planteamientos ideales para los marcos
educativos español y canario, y sus respectivos fines para la etapa de primaria.

This work is based on Gamification in CLIL context. Through the creation of an Innovation
Project named ‘Our Spacecraft: The Earth’ and its further implementation in a Biology & Geology
Class- 1
st of Compulsory Education-. This dissertation aims to create a meaningful proposal for
students in a CLIL scenario. To this end, a dual methodology- theoretical and empirical- will be
conducted. For the theoretical framework, bibliographic sources and related references will be used
to chart the state of the issue. The empirical framework will analyse the creation of an innovative
proposal related to the Biology & Geology syllabus for 1st of Compulsory Education. On the other
hand, putting into practice the proposal, applicable results will be obtained for the development and
progress of the Innovation Project.

This End-of-Master's degree project aims to study how tasks which are cognitively
challenging work in CLIL lessons in Primary Education. In order to do so, research on concepts
such as cognition, memory, motivation or CLIL was done, as well as some legal framework
has been also described. Furthermore, activities designed by a proper CLIL teacher who is
actively working at the moment have been analysed. Finally, a situated cognition task has been
developed in an Artistic Education CLIL class, in 6th grade of Primary Education in Tegueste,
during the internship period.
