This text is a Doctoral Thesis work developed at the University of La Laguna, within the Doctorate program in Philosophy, Culture and Society, and under the direction of Doña Amparo Gómez Rodríguez and the co-direction of Mr. Antonio Francisco Canales Serrano.
This work proposes a phenomenological investigation about eugenics and its possible conceptual and historical relationship with human evolution, and this research is based on a reflection on the words "eugenics", "eugénesis" and "eugenism" to then study certain expressions of the phenomenon treated and of elements theoretically or historically related to it from antiquity to the recent past.
In this way, I propose eugenics as a phenomenon that has not been expressed only in eugenizing programs imposed politically throughout history, I reflect on its significance and its relationship with realities not limited to the area of ¿¿procreation, and I investigate some of its demonstrations with the purpose of assuming questions and gaps present in the study thereof.
