La narración de los ataques terroristas de París en la prensa española

Abstract

The September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York marked a before and after in the history of jihadist terrorism and the globalized world, as they struck the symbol of a nation like the United States and, consequently, demonstrated that no country no matter how powerful it was, it was sure of suffering similar acts. Monitoring and dissemination of such events were entrusted to the media, which transmitted their representation of reality to society. The main objective of this work is to capture the representation that the Spanish press, ABC and El País for its relevance, made on the terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015. Which resulted in 130 deaths and 400 injured distributed in 3 different attacks: a shooting in a restaurant in the X District of Paris, another shooting in the Bataclan room in the XI District of Paris and an explosion near the Stadium of France. These acts were claimed by the Islamic State, evidencing that since September 11 in New York jihadism has continued to attack. To analyze, interpret and obtain conclusions about the reality that was transmitted, linguistic statistical analyzes were used through the Iramuteq software. In addition, a parallel comparison was made between the Italian and Spanish press on the same subject, that is, the representations of reality that they built on terrorist attacks. With the aim of establishing differences and similarities in the way they prepare and transmit the news about terrorism. Throughout the work, the concept of terrorism and the media is deepened, as a theoretical foundation that allows us to interpret and understand better the results obtained, in such a way that this research is as profitable as possible for everyone who read it.

Los ataques del 11 de septiembre a las Torres Gemelas en Nueva York marcaron un antes y un después en la historia del terrorismo yihadista y del mundo globalizado, ya que golpearon el símbolo de una nación como Estados Unidos y, en consecuencia, demostraron que ningún país por más poderoso que fuera estaba seguro de sufrir actos similares. Del seguimiento y difusión de tales sucesos se encargaron los medios de comunicación, los cuales transmitieron su representación de la realidad a la sociedad. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es captar la representación que la prensa española, ABC y El País por su relevancia, hizo sobre los atentados terroristas de París del día 13 de noviembre de 2015. Los cuales se saldaron con 130 muertos y 400 heridos repartidos en 3 ataques diferentes: un tiroteo en un restaurante en el X Distrito de París, otro tiroteo en la sala Bataclan en el XI Distrito de París y una explosión cerca del Estadio de Francia. Estos actos fueron reivindicados por El Estado Islámico, evidenciando que desde el 11 de septiembre en Nueva York el yihadismo ha seguido atacando. Para analizar, interpretar y obtener conclusiones sobre la realidad que se transmitió, se utilizaron análisis estadísticos lingüísticos a través del software Iramuteq. Además, se llevó a cabo una comparación paralela entre la prensa italiana y la española sobre la misma temática, es decir, las representaciones de la realidad que construyeron sobre los atentados terroristas. Con el objetivo de establecer diferencias y similitudes en la forma que tienen de elaborar y transmitir las noticias sobre terrorismo. A lo largo de todo el trabajo se profundiza en el concepto de terrorismo y medios de comunicación, a modo de fundamentación teórica que permita interpretar y comprender mejor los resultados obtenidos, de tal forma que esta investigación resulte lo más provechosa posible para todo el que la lea.
