La littérature française pour le XXIº siècle:

Abstract

Research on medieval literature has been conditioned by the use of new technologies, especially since the sixties. When comparing the diversity of perspectives from which philology and literary history have been dealt with throughout the twentieth century, a profound lack of balance is spotted between these two disciplines. Notwithstanding this, today the situation seems to have followed the opposite direction, and this accounts for the rediscovery of great poets, of a part of the dramatic and narrative production as well as of the translation activity carried out in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. The author calls for a global knowledge of that which is medieval, asking for an approach to medieval texts which departs from the notion of indisciplinariety. New technologies reveal themselves as invaluable tools in this process.

La actividad investigadora en literatura medieval viene condicionada desde los años sesenta por la utilización de las nuevas tecnologías. Pasando revista a los distintos enfoques con los que la filología y la historia literaria se han aplicado, a lo largo del siglo xx, al estudio de las obras medievales, el autor llega a la conclusión de que se ha producido un grave desequilibrio entre ambas disciplinas. Felizmente, esta situación se ha invertido, lo que ha permitido la revalorización de los grandes poetas, así como de buena parte de la creación dramática y narrativa, y de la actividad traductora llevada a cabo en los siglos xiv y xv. El autor concluye que se hace necesario un conocimiento global de lo medieval, abogando por un acercamiento a los textos medievales desde la indisciplinariedad, para lo cual las nuevas tecnologías se revelan como útiles indispensables
