As primeiras mulheres “pioneiras” se formam na Escola Naval brasileira: adeus minha escola querida!

Abstract

A Escola Naval recebeu em 2014 a primeira turma de Aspirantes mulheres em seu curso de graduação. As “pioneiras”, como foram denominadas, significavam à época apenas 1,5% do total do corpo discente, um coletivo que desconhecia, como companheiros de farda, a figura feminina. O objetivo deste estudo é identificar as dificuldades enfrentadas pelas primeiras Aspirantes em sua inclusão, sua integração e seu desenvolvimento como mulheres e militares no decorrer dos quatro anos vividos na instituição. A abordagem desta investigação é de cunho qualitativo, tendo como metodologia principal um questionário com perguntas abertas e fechadas para as doze Aspirantes. As instituições de formação superior militar desejam que as suas Cadetes/Aspirantes conheçam as representações sociais e militares, descubram sua vocação, apreendam o estilo de vida da tropa e os valores militares. Além disso, aspira-se a que se conscientizem sobre os comportamentos desejáveis que deverão seguir na profissão castrense, de dedicação à Força e à Pátria, sem se esquecerem de que são mulheres e cidadãs, integrantes ativas da sociedade brasileira. Apesar de toda a dificuldade que travaram diariamente para vencer as batalhas do cotidiano, as pioneiras têm uma carreira que enche de orgulho os seus corações, que amplia o patriotismo, que ensina respeito mútuo e à hierarquia, e que valores como companheirismo, cordialidade e lealdade sempre serão cultuados. Ao final, o que ficou evidenciado nas respostas ao questionário foi que elas estão se preparando para dar continuidade à carreira militar, porém, com a certeza de que ainda há desafios pela frente e que, mostrando a capacidade intelectual, física e profissional que possuem, conquistarão um espaço maior no meio militar. As doze Aspirantes mulheres, em dezembro de 2017, se formaram. Podemos afirmar, portanto, que este é o reconhecimento da Marinha por quatro anos dedicados a construção do ser marinheiro, independente do seu gênero.

In 2014, the Naval Academy welcomed their first class of midshipwomen in the graduation course. The “pioneers” – as they were named – at that time represented only 1.5% of the entire student body, a group that had never seen females as their uniform peers. This study has the purpose of identifying the problems faced by the first midshipwomen, regarding their inclusion, integration, and development as women and military throughout the four years they lived in the Institution. The approach used in this investigation is qualitative by nature, its main methodology being a questionnaire comprising both open- and close-ended questions to all twelve midshipwomen. The military higher education institutions want their cadets to be aware of the social and military representations, to find their vocation, and to adopt the military values and the troops lifestyle. Furthermore, they are expected to be cognizant of the desirable behaviors they should adopt in the soldierly occupation, of commitment to the Armed Forces and to their country. In spite of all the trouble they had every day to overcome daily hurdles, the pioneers have a career that fills their hearts with pride, enhancing patriotism, teaches mutual respect and hierarchy, and that values like companionship, cordiality, and loyalty shall always be worshipped. At the end of the day research, what became evident from the responses to the questionnaire was that they are getting ready to continue on their military careers, however without a doubt that there still will be challenges to be faced, and that, by demonstrating the intellectual, physical, and professional skills they have, they’ll conquer more space in the military milieu. The twelve midshipwomen graduated in December 2017. Therefore we can state that this is the Navy’s recognition for four years dedicated to building a seaperson, regardless of their gender.
