La figura de Tereo en el teatro francés del siglo XVIII: El Téree de Antoine-Marin Lemierre

Abstract

Análisis y contextualización de la reelaboración dramática del tema mitíco de Tereo, Progne y Filomela llevada a cabo por Antoine-Marin de Lemierre (1733-1793), estrenada en 1761 y repuesta y publicada en 1787. Se ofrecen también unos datos esenciales sobre la vida y producción literaria del autor, una evaluación de lo que supone la tragedia en el conjunto de los tratamientos dramáticos del tema y la especificación de sus fuentes principales.

An analysis and contextualization of Antoine-Marin Lemierre’s Térée, a dramatic re-interpretation of the mythical theme of Procne and Philomela, first performed in 1761, and re-staged and published in 1787. This article also provides essential information on the life and works of the author, an assessment of the significance of Lemierre’s Térée in the context of other dramatic approaches to the topic, and an identification of its main sources.
