Abstract

La alternancia entre el Dativo y ab... abl. con -tum esse se asocia a dos modos de presentar los Estados de Cosas: si se presentan como Acciones, se escoge ab... abl. para expresar el Agente, pero si se presentan como Estados, la elección recae sobre el Dativo. Además, la estructura - tum esse + Dativo establece una oposición diatética con la estructura -tum habere.

The alternance Dative/ab... abl. with -tum esse is associated with two ways of presenting the States of Affairs: if they are presented as Actions, the choice is ab... abl to express the Agent, but if they are presented as States, the choice is Dative case. In adition, the structure -tum esse + Dative establishes a diathetic opposition with the structure -tum habere.
