La globalización de los contenidos y la interdisciplinariedad en Educación Primaria

Abstract

Even in our days, there are many primary schools in which they continue to teach the different subjects of the curriculum separately, independently and with rigid schedules, as if these were watertight compartments without any connection between them; obviously, in reality, different events occur in a global and complex manner, with multiple elements that interrelate with each other and that depend on the most diverse areas of knowledge. It is for this reason that a methodological change is necessary under a globalizing approach that implements the different areas of the curriculum in an interdisciplinary way and that allows to work its different contents globally. Thus, attending to the social and psych-pedagogical source of the curriculum itself, we will be applying teaching processes that provoke more meaningful learning by considering the cognitive and affective structures of our students.

Aún en nuestros días, son muchas las escuelas de Educación Primaria en las que se siguen impartiendo las diferentes materias del currículo por separado, de manera independiente y con unos horarios rígidos, como si estas fueran compartimentos estancos sin ninguna conexión entre sí; obviando, que en la realidad los distintos acontecimientos se producen de manera global y compleja, con múltiples elementos que se interrelacionen entre sí y que dependen de las más diversas áreas del conocimiento y del saber. Es por ello, que se hace necesario un cambio metodológico bajo un enfoque globalizador que implemente las diferentes áreas del currículo de una manera interdisciplinar y que permita trabajar sus diferentes contenidos globalmente. Así, atendiendo a la fuente social y psicopedagógica del propio currículo, estaremos aplicando unos procesos de enseñanza que provoquen unos aprendizajes más significativos, al tener en cuenta las estructuras cognitivas y afectivas de nuestro alumnado.
