Nos-otros [sic] los Magos: autorretratos de la posmodernidad (Norte de Tenerife)

Abstract

Este texto persigue la definición de los contornos de un colectivo ya «naturalizado» y mitificado en lo que a la construcción social de la «canariedad» se refiere, y más en concreto, de sus zonas rurales —el Norte de Tenerife—: los magos; que lejos de la repetida arenga conservacionista y patrimonial, empeñada en exceso en desentrañar «verdades» en su pretérito presente, cuantificar su realidad social, sus peculiaridades a modo de enumeración folclórica para legitimar el presente, se preocupará por la multiplicidad de imágenes en estrecha relación con los condicionantes sociales que afectan al acto de poder que supone todo proceso de construcción de identidades. Para ello pondremos la pupila en los discursos acerca de sus orígenes, en su manera de percibir la historia como grupo social en relación a otros grupos, en su esencia desigual y heterogénea, intentando desenmascarar su geografía provisional, divisoria, híbrida, así como el contexto posmoderno en el que estos procesos, lejos de perder vigencia, se ven redivulgados e intensificados en el nuevo frenesí global.

These essay follows the definition of the outlines of a group that is already «naturalized» and under the myth of what is referd as the social construction of «la canariedad», particulary in the rural zones —the North of Tenerife—; «los magos»; that far from the repeated conservation and patrimonial harangue, keeps on in the excess for reveal «truths» in the preterite- present, quantify their social reality, its peculiarities as a mode of folkloric enumeration for legitimate this present, would be worried of its multiplied images in strech relation with the social conditions that afects the act of power wich conform identities. For this we will pay attention to the discourses about the origin, in a way to percieve history as a social group related to other groups, in its unequeal and heterogenic essence, trying to unmask the provisional, dividing, hybrid geography, as well as its postmodern context in wich these proceses, far from loosing its sense, they are seen in the new global frenzy re-divulge and intensify.
