Viajeras de lengua alemana en Canarias en el marco de la literatura de viajes femenina

Abstract

En el presente trabajo queremos, en primer lugar, presentar a grandes rasgos la obra de tres autoras de lengua alemana que tiene como objeto su estancia en Canarias a principios del siglo XX; en segundo lugar, establecer las diferencias fundamentales existentes entre los testimonios que sobre el Archipiélago han dejado estas tres mujeres y el legado aportado por los numerosos intelectuales y científicos, también de lengua alemana, que visitaron las Islas, fundamentalmente, en el siglo XIX; por último, insertar sus obras en el marco de la literatura de viajes femenina europea en general y en lengua alemana, en particular.

In this paper we would like, first, to present the basic features of the works of three Germanspeaking women authors about their voyages to the Canary Islands in the beginning of the 20th century. Secondly, we want to stress out the main differences of this three testimonials made by the authors and to separate them from the works of the many German speaking scientists which traveled to the Canaries in the 19th century. Finally we want to frame them within the european women’s travel literature in general and especially the women’s travel literature in German.
