Influencias e innovaciones gráficas en la creación del alfabeto líbico oriental (Túnez y Argelia)

Abstract

Se estudia la creación del líbico oriental analizando las formas y valores de sus grafemas. Los resultados demuestran la existencia de un inventario de préstamos adaptados del alfabeto fenicio que se toma como base para la creación de nuevos signos. Por tanto, se descarta la influencia de un hipotético sistema pictográfico indígena. Por último, del estudio epigráfico se infiere que la escritura líbico-bereber pudo originarse a mediados del I milenio a. e.

The creation of the Eastern Libyan alphabet is studied here by analysing the forms and values of its graphemes. The results show the existence of a primary inventory of signs borrowed from Phoenician which was used as a basis for creating new ones. Therefore, the influence of a hypothetical indigenous pictographic writing system is rejected. Finally, epigraphic study reveals that Libyco-Berber writing could have originated in the middle of the first millennium BC.
