Impacto del brexit en Canarias

Abstract

This work tries to synthesize and expose the consequences that could derive from the BREXIT agreement in the Canary Islands if it were to be carried out. The analysis involves showing the intense relations between Spain and the United Kingdom, with more accentuation in the relations between the Canary Islands and the United Kingdom. Among the factors to be analysed are the demographic impact of the British on our territory, as well as the number of social security affiliates (which shows us the growing weight in UK-Canary Islands relations, not only in terms of tourism, but also in terms of employment), the trade balance shows us the trade links that exist, and the tourism sector which is notoriously affected due to the dependence on our economic system

Este trabajo trata de sintetizar y exponer las consecuencias que se podrían derivar del acuerdo BREXIT en Canarias si éste llegara a efectuarse. El análisis pasa por mostrar las intensas relaciones entre España y Reino Unido con más acentuación en las relaciones entre Canarias y el Reino Unido. Entre los factores a analizar encontramos el impacto demográfico que suponen los británicos en nuestro territorio, así como el número de afiliados a seguridad social (que nos muestra el peso creciente en las relaciones RU- Canarias, no sólo en términos turísticos, sino en términos laborales), la balanza comercial que nos da muestra de los lazos comerciales existentes, y el sector turístico que se ve afectado en gran medida debido a la dependencia de nuestro sistema económico.
