La difusión de la Guerra de la Gramática de Andrés Guarna

Abstract

En el año 1515 apareció publicada en Cremona una obra que se conoce con el nombre de Bellum Grammaticale, cuyo autor es Andrés Guarna, explicando la gramática como una guerra entre dos reyes: el Nombre y el Verbo. Esta obra de carácter eminentemente didáctico fue inmediatamente muy aceptada en Europa como lo demuestra, entre otros datos, el número de ediciones que se hicieron en distintos países. El autor de este artículo da su visión del contenido de la obra y repasa y comenta las distintas ediciones que se han hecho, así como los arreglos y adaptaciones.

In the year 1515 there turned out to be published in Cremona a work that is known by the Latin name of Bellum Grammaticale, which author is Andrés Guarna, explaining the grammar as a war of two kings: the Name against the Verb. This work of eminently didactic character was immediately very accepted in Europe as it is shown, besides other information, by the number of editions that were done in different countries. The author of this paper gives his vision of the content of the work and revises and comments on the different editions that have been done, as well as the arrangements and adjustments.
