Consumo privado: análisis de los determinantes y de las características en España y Canarias

Abstract

The main objective of the work is to analyze the determinants of consumption from the importance that this component of aggregate demand has in the growth of any country. This is done by examining the main macroeconomic theories that explain the consumption behavior and analyzing the evolution of its determinant variables. The study has shown the disparities in the amount and structure of private spending by Canarian individuals and the rest of Spain. The results have also shown that the level of training, the age, the level of income and the type of household in which it is inhabited are characteristics that determine the way in which it is consumed.

El objetivo principal del trabajo es analizar los determinantes del consumo desde la importancia que este componente de la demanda agregada tiene en el crecimiento de cualquier país. Para ello se examinan las principales teorías macroeconómicas que explica el comportamiento del consumo y se analizan la evolución de sus variables determinantes. El estudio ha mostrado las desigualdades en cuanto a cantidad y estructura en el gasto privado de los individuos canarios y del resto de España. También los resultados han permitido ver como el nivel de formación, la edad, el nivel de ingresos y el tipo de hogar en el que se habita son características que determinan la forma en la que se consume.
