dc.description.abstract | Right now, a big part of the world's population does not have access to electricity. In Africa, more than 600 million people live in isolation from the electric grid, which means that they have worse living conditions than other places. The purpose of this project is to design and calculate an electrical installation based on renewable energies, to supply energy to a small village of Children's Villages that is isolated from the electricity grid. This town is located in Senegal, more specifically in Louga. In the zone we’ll supply, there are 2 schools, 10 family houses, a vocational training center, a youth residence, a social center, a dining room and an administrative area. The HOMER PRO software has been used to carry out this project. This software will perform different simulations to find the most suitable combination. This selection will be chosen based on technical and economic criteria. After estimating the energy demand that the village will have and carrying out the simulations, the best option was to build a hybrid installation based on renewable energy. The installation will consist of a 117.25 kW photovoltaic generator that will be supported by a battery system and a generator set. Based on the calculations that will be presented in the following documents, we can provide electricity to the village and then we will be able improve their living conditions. | en |
