Inmigración, comunicación y convivencia multicultural

Abstract

Los inmigrantes en España representan más del 8,5% de la población. En el año 2015 serán el 27,4 % (11 millones). Nuestro país se convertirá en una sociedad más compleja y heterogénea, en la que habremos de convivir distintas etnias y culturas. ¿Sobre qué principios ético-políticos? Este artículo revisa las políticas de integración inspiradas en las tesis del movimiento multiculturalista (Charles Taylor y Will Kymlicka, entre otros) y las confronta con las posiciones de los partidarios de políticas universalistas e igualitarias (Habermas, Sartori y Sami Naïr), que se reclaman de la tradición ilustrada y de los principios del liberalismo clásico.

Inmigrants in Spain represent more than 8,5% of the population. They will become 27,4% (11 million) in 2015. Our country will be transformed into a more complex and heterogeneus society in which different cultures and ethic groups will have to live together. Which ethical and political principles might this coexistence be based on? This article revises the policies of integration inspired by the thesis of multiculturalism movement (Charles Taylor and Will Kymlicka, among others) and confronts them with the position of the followers of universalist and equalitarian policies (Habermas, Sartori and Sami Naïr), who adopt the tradition of the Enlightenment and the principles of the classic liberalism.
