T people have faced numerous adversities throughout history, since it is widely accepted being a cis heterosexual person as the rule. Even though there has been 3a lot of achievements in regards of the acknowledging of LGBT people ́s rights, there is still a long way to go to equality. That is the reason why the objective of this research is to get a widevision on the knowldege, as well as the LGBT phobia, existing within Social Work studentsat Universidad de La Laguna. In order to accomplish that, we conducted a survey amongst the students, with several parts, where we included a series of socio demographic questions we considered were relevant for the study. The sexual orientation and the religion stand out the most, for we have observed most of the times they have a direct relationship with the answers given. The greatest result obtained after the research is the lack of LGBT phobia existing amongst Social Work students. Even so, we could see that nowadays, religion is still a determining factor in how LGBT people are perceived. On the other hand, the subgroup people know the least about and also present the most phobia towards, it is the one made by trans people. These results show the need to teach ingender and sexual diversity, in order to train future Social Workers in that matter and with that, accomplish full equality for everyone who is part of society.en
