Este trabajo analiza los principales aspectos de la regulación estatutaria del gobierno y la
administración autonómica de Canarias, tras la reforma de 1996, tanto en su dimensión
orgánica como competencial.
This paper focuses on main aspects of Canary Government and Public Administration
regulations in the frame of the Canary Autonomy Act, 1982, after the reform carried out in
1996, both on its organic aspect and competences. The research underlines the special role
played by Island Councils in building the Autonomous region, as well as the wide range of
competences assumed by Canary Isles
