Durante el periodo romántico, la pintura sintió una enorme fascinación por las vistas de arquitecturas medievales, sobre todo de estilo gótico. Las simbologías son numerosas, pues fue un estilo cargado de connotaciones para el hombre romántico. Este artículo ofrece una visión comparada de este tipo de pintura y la fotografía coetánea, que compartió esa admiración por la arquitectura del Medievo.

In the Romantic Period, the painters felt a great fascination for sights of Medieval architecture, overall for the gothic style. The symbols are various because this style was very meanful to the romantic people. This article shows a comparison between this kind of painting and the coetaneous photography, sharing both of them this admiration for the medieval architecture.
