El mundo de Shadi Abdel Salam

Abstract

Con este trabajo pretendemos dar a conocer algunos datos biográficos y filmográficos de un cineasta árabe relativamente desconocido en Occidente, como es el caso de Shadi Abdel Salam. Figura fundamental del cine egipcio, reconocido internacionalmente gracias a su único largometraje, La momia; su obra vuelve a retomar interés gracias a una exposición permanente sobre sus diseños cinematográficos que la nueva Biblioteca de Alejandría exhibe desde hace unos meses.

With this paper we’ve tried to make known some information about the works and the films of Shadi Abdel Salam, an arab film-maker. He was one of the most important personalities of the Egyptian cinema in the latests sixties and in the seventies; well-known because of its only feature-film, The Mummy. Recently some of his designs and a selection of his films are shown permanently at the new Alexandrine Library.
