La Eutanasia, un tema pendiente en España

Abstract

La eutanasia y su regulación es un tema que ha azotado la política española durante años y que vuelve a pisar fuerte en estos últimos tiempos. Lejos de redactar un trabajo sobre los entresijos del concepto, de su carácter o no de derecho fundamental, la idea principal es hacer un acercamiento a las Proposiciones de ley que han sido presentadas en los últimos años por los distintos grupos parlamentarios. Se realizará un análisis íntegro de lo contenido en cada una de ellas respecto de la prestación de ayuda para morir, desde los aspectos más genéricos hasta los supuestos más concretos, y todo ello teniendo como referencia las regulaciones existentes en otros países de la Unión Europea, como Holanda o Bélgica, entre otros. Todo ello para finalmente acabar conformando el contenido básico que debería integrar cualquier norma o disposición sobre eutanasia que pudiera aprobarse en nuestro país. ¿Está España en el camino correcto hacia una regulación adecuada de la eutanasia? Esa es la pregunta que se intentará aclarar

Euthanasia and its regulation is an issue which has been included in Spanish politics for years and which has been on the rise again in recent times. Far from writing a project about the intricacies of the concept, of its character or not of fundamental right, the main idea is to make an approach to the legislative proposals that have been presented in recent years by the different parliamentary groups. A full analysis will be made of the content of each of them with respect to the provision of death assistance, from the most generic aspects to the most specific assumptions, and all this with reference to existing regulations in other countries of the European Union, such as Holland or Belgium, among others. All this in order to finally shape the basic content that should integrate any norm or disposition on euthanasia that could be approved in our country. Is Spain on the right path towards an appropiate regulation of euthanasia? That is the question that will be tried to clarify
