Iluminando a los pintores de la luz. Tiempos

Abstract

Con este trabajo pretendemos ver cómo el cine ha tratado la vida de cuatro pintores de la Época Moderna; uno del siglo XVI, Miguel Ángel Buonarrotti, y tres del XVII: dos italianos, Michelangelo Merisi Caravaggio y Artemisia Gentileschi, y un holandés, Rembrandt van Rijn. Todos tienen algo en común: su conflictiva vida y los problemas de toda índole que a lo largo de ella tuvieron que sortear, al margen de haber sido grandes maestros del arte.

With this work we’ve tried to show how the movies have represented the lifes of four Modern Age painters —Michelangelo Buonarrotti; Caravaggio; Artemisia Gentileschi and Rembrandt van Rijn—. All of them have something in common: their controversial existences and all kinds of troubles that have suffered in their lifetimes. Moreover, they are all great painters.
