In recent years it has increased sports practice at a competitive level and with it
the interest and publicity in the media, in relation to accidents in the sports field, in the same
way, as sudden deaths during their practice.
For this reason, it is important that professionals in this discipline are trained and
have the necessary knowledge in basic health matters, so that they have the possibility of
providing early, basic and effective assistance to users of different sports modalities.
The preparation of this project and the previous research, which has been carried
out, intends to combine the knowledge and skills that the different professionals possess
so that the mortality figures in the island sport can be reduced, or that adequate assistance
is provided from the moment when a cardiorespiratory arrest occurs.
To this end, different public institutions of the island of La Palma (Island Council,
Town Halls, Clubs and Gyms) have joined together in order to train the monitors, coaches
and give better assistance to the participants of the multiple sports activities of the island.
At the end of the intervention, the data obtained will be emptied and the topic discussed will
be discussed, seeking the achievement of the objectives and improvements for future
projects related to this topic
