El uso de tableros recortados en los retablos de la Comarca de Abona, Tenerife

Abstract

El desconocimiento y desvalorización de muchos de los bienes culturales, debido a la carencia de cualquier tipo de investigación, ha favorecido al olvido de estos objetos. Esto ha producido la necesidad de crear nuevas herramientas que sirvan para la difusión de los bienes patrimoniales. La importancia de las obras que forman parte de nuestro patrimonio es un modelo de nuestro pasado, presente y futuro, por lo que es fundamental concienciar de su existencia para su correcta preservación, para generaciones futuras. Esta necesidad por investigar y difundir el patrimonio ha dado impulso a este proyecto. El presente trabajo del final de grado, ha consistido en una investigación técnica de la retablística en una zona concreta del sur de la isla de Tenerife. Se ha concentrado en el estudio y catalogación de los tableros recortados de los bienes retablísticos patrimoniales ubicados en las parroquias de los municipios: Arona, Vilaflor, Granadilla y Arico, dentro de la Comarca de Abona. Se ha tratado de un rescate enlazado a la historia de la zona, la cual ha permanecido hasta ahora, sumida en el olvido de estudios, a diferencia de la retablística del norte de la isla. Por lo cual, se ha procedido investigar sobre estos municipios debido a la gran relación histórica-artística que existe entre ellos, pudiendo relacionar la documentación que se expone. Haciendo referencia a otros retablos exentos de tableros recortados, los cuales se encuentran dentro de la zona, y quedando reflejados en el anexo. Por tanto, el estudio se ha enfocado en la técnica de tableros recortados, pero también en la contextualización de las arquitecturas y la zona en la que se encuentran ubicados, respondiendo así, al título principal de este trabajo.

The ignorance and devaluation of many of the cultural heritage, due to the lack of any type of research, has favored the forgetfulness of these objects. This has produced the need to create new tools that serve to disseminate heritage assets. The importance of the works that are part of our heritage is a model of our past, present and future, so it is essential to raise awareness of their existence for their proper preservation, for future generations. This need to research and disseminate heritage has given impetus to this project. The present work of the end of degree, has consisted of a technical investigation of the altarpiece in a specific area in the south of the island of Tenerife. It has concentrated on the study and cataloging of the cut boards of the patrimonial altarpieces located in the parishes of the municipalities: Arona, Vilaflor, Granadilla y Arico, located within the región Abona. It has been a rescue linked to the history of the area, which has remained until now, steeped in the oblivion of studies, unlike the altarpiece in the north of the island. Therefore, we have proceeded to investigate these municipalities due to the great historical-artistic relationship that exists between them, being able to relate the documentation that is exposed. Referring to other altarpieces free of cut boards, which are within the area, reflected in the annexes. Therefore, the study has focused on the technique of cut boards, but also on the contextualization of the architectures and the area in which they are located, responding within this margin to the main title of this work.
