2020Resumen
Immigrant families are exposed to a number of risk and protection factors that

The aim of this TFG is to analyse the acculturative stress and resilience in Latin
American immigrant families, through a literature review. A series of studies regarding
the topic to be treated, between the years 2008 and 2019, were examined. The articles
found in two databases: Google Scholar and EBSCO, following a PRISMA model. A
total of 105 articles were obtained, different inclusion criteria were applied and finally,
eight articles were selected that, provide the necessary information to respond to the
objective of the work. Concerning the results, there is evidence that a series of
pathologies such as anxiety, depression, or sadness, were suffered by immigrant
families as a consequence of acculturative stress. On the other hand, a series of
protective factors that promote resilience were highlighted. In addition to that, resilience
was identified as a tool to face and overcome problems. This study shows that that
acculturative stress and resilience are very present during the acculturation process in
Latin American immigrant families. This study promotes knowledge about the problems
suffered by immigrants during the migratory stage and can be especially useful for
social workers, who address the problems and help the move forward.
