dc.description.abstract | Objetivo: Describir las características clínico-epidemiológicas y evolutivas de los pacientes con infección reciente por VIH remitidos a la consulta de Infecciones del HUC para inicio de seguimiento. Métodos: estudio observacional retrospectivo de todos los pacientes con diagnóstico reciente de VIH que iniciaron seguimiento en dicha consulta de enero de 2014 a diciembre de 2018. Resultados: De los 291 pacientes incluidos un 92,1% fueron hombres, siendo la vía de transmisión más frecuente la sexual (HSH 73,9 %). Presentaban diagnóstico tardío un 46,69%, enfermedad avanzada un 29,27% y un 18,1% alguna enfermedad definitoria de SIDA. Conclusiones: Los altos porcentajes de DT y EA, que se han mantenido sin cambios durante el periodo estudiado, revelan la necesidad de implementar mejores estrategias de prevención y diagnóstico precoz, especialmente en el grupo HSH. | es |
dc.description.abstract | Objective: To describe the clinical, epidemiological and evolutionary characteristics of patients with recent HIV infection referred to the HUC Infections Unit to begin monitorization. Methods: retrospective observational study of all newly diagnosed HIV patients seen at this clinic from January 2014 to December 2018. Results: 291 patients were included, 92,1% were men, the most frequent route of transmission was sexual route (MSM 73,9%). 46,69% had a late diagnosis, 29,27% had advanced disease and 18,1% had some AIDS-defining condition. Conclusions: The high percentages of late diagnosis and advanced disease, which have remained unchanged during the studied time period, reveal the need to implement better strategies for prevention and early diagnosis, especially whithin the MSM group. | en |
