Abstract

Las páginas que siguen asumen que la sociología de la educación tiene un ámbito privilegiado de investigación y reflexión teórica en las nuevas cuestiones que el capitalismo informacional ha abierto. Su argumento central, desde la sociología crítica, sostiene que entender las nuevas formas de desigualdad que comporta la etapa actual de globalización neoliberal y el conflicto concreto entre la democratización del conocimiento y la globalización de las desigualdades culturales y educativas, exige analizar —como nuevas fuentes de desigualdad que potencian y refuerzan las ya existentes—, tanto las dificultades en el acceso a la información y a su procesamiento significativo como las asimetrías en el intercambio de comunicación como, en último término, el papel que juegan los usos sociales del conocimiento científico y la tecnociencia en el actual capitalismo informacional.

This paper assumes that sociology of education supposes a privileged frame of research and theoretical reflection taking account the new questions opened by the informational capitalism nowadays. Their central statements, from the critical sociology, sustain that to understand the new forms of inequality that the current stage of neoliberal globalization brings up; and to explain the concrete conflict between the democratisation of the knowledge and the globalization of the cultural and educational inequalities, it is necessary to analyse (as new sources of inequality that makes powerful and they already reinforce those existent), the difficulties in the access to the information as well as the asymmetries in the communication exchange, and also in last term, the paper that could play the social uses of the scientific knowledge and the techno-science in the current informational capitalism.
