Rosa Mística: La iconografía del Rosario en el mundo Hispánico

Abstract

Dentro del culto mariano y la forma que los fieles comienzan a dirigirse a la Virgen, aparece la oración del Santo Rosario, siendo la Orden Dominica los principales valedores y propagadores, junto con las fundaciones de las primeras Cofradías del Rosario. Con la puesta en marcha de la Contrarreforma y la victoria sobre el turco en la Batalla de Lepanto, el rezo del Rosario se convirtió en oración indispensable en un fiel cristiano para ganar las gracias divinas, al igual que la advocación mariana del mismo nombre, patrona de la comunidad dominica, protectora de la Monarquía de los Habsburgo y principal valedora de esta victoria lepantina, haciendo que la devoción se propagara por todo el orbe cristiano, de la mano de infinidad de representaciones plásticas que hacen que la Virgen del Rosario sea una de las advocaciones marianas con más devoción de la cristiandad.

Within the Marian cult and the way the faithful begin to address the Virgin, the prayer of the Holy Rosary appears, with the Dominican Order being the main supporters and propagators, along with the foundations of the first Brotherhoods of the Rosary. With the setting the march of the Counter-Reformation and the victory over the Turk in the Battle of Lepanto, the prayer of the Rosary became an indispensable prayer in a faithful Christian to earn thanks divine, like the Marian invocation of the same name, patron of the community Dominican, protector of the Habsburg Monarchy and main supporter of this victory lepantina, causing devotion to spread throughout the Christian world, hand in hand with infinity of plastic representations that make the Virgin of the Rosary one of the Marian invocations with more devotion to Christianity.
