Lancelot, 28°-7° de Agustín Espinosa. Isla, mito, contemporaneidad y humor

Abstract

En este breve estudio se realiza una interpretación literaria sobre la trascendencia cultural y el hondo significado poético del libro Lancelot, 28°-7°, del escritor tinerfeño Agustín Espinosa, publicado en 1929, dentro del contexto de las vanguardias históricas de Canarias. Entre otras cuestiones se abordan aspectos fundamentales de su innovadora, divertida y transgresora estética literaria como la isla, el mito, la contemporaneidad o el humor que laten en dicha obra, considerando siempre un doble compromiso del autor con los recursos expresivos de la modernidad y una singular visión del territorio insular, en forma de una nueva e inventada Lanzarote.

In this brief study a literary interpretation is made about the cultural transcendence and the deep poetic meaning of the book Lancelot, 28°-7°, by the writer from Tenerife Agustín Espinosa, published in 1929, within the context of the historical Avant-gardes of the Canary Islands. Among other issues, this paper addresses fundamental aspects of its innovative, amusing and transgressive literary aesthetics such as the island, myth, contemporaneity or humour that beats in this literary work, always considering a double commitment of the author with the expressive resources of Modernity and a singular vision of the land, in the form of a new and invented Lanzarote.
