This document details the process of researching, designing and manufacturing of the battery pack for a Formula Student Electric vehicle that will materialize in the period 2019-2021 at the University of La Laguna. The Formula Student is an educational project, consisting on a competition that takes place worldwide at the university level and deals with the design, development and construction of a formula car (electric or combustion) by students, whose purpose is to pass a series of established tests. This competition is expected for students to acquire the necessary skills in the field of racing vehicles to face the world of work later. The FSULL team has opted for the design of an electric car. Therefore, one of the most important elements of the vehicle is the battery system (power train), which is responsible for supplying the necessary energy to the traction system of the car and satisfactorily complying with the tests. In this memory, we will talk about the initial requirements and needs of the vehicle, the theoretical calculations necessary to establish the characteristics of the cells, the process of selecting the batteries, the conditions in which the vehicle will be located, and all the steps followed until reaching the final design of the pack. The battery pack is intended to store and provide the necessary energy of the vehicle to pass all the tests to which it will undergo once built. In addition, it must be able to give the necessary dynamic power during the development of the entire event (overcome each and every test to which the vehicle will be subjected). According to the theoretical results of research and design, the market components for the construction of this pack are selected, and the information is also attached in this document, as well as a comparative analysis of our final proposal of the pack with other possible designs.en
