La talabarteria como oficio de arte en aras de desaparición: Propuesta para su revalorización en la Ciudad de León, Guanajuato. Ruta Talabartera León

Abstract

Históricamente, la ciudad de León, en el estado de Guanajuato ha sido reconocida a lo largo de los años como el sitio productor de artículos de piel por excelencia. Sin embargo, la talabartería, una actividad que ha sido de suma importancia para el desarrollo económico de la ciudad, y que, se convierte por si misma y su bagaje histórico y sociocultural como elemento esencial del arraigo e identidad patrimonial leonesa, con el paso del tiempo ha ido quedando relegada tras otras industrias cuya base sobre la que se sustentan es la curtiduría.. Ante la falta de iniciativas del sector piel y calzado así como la económica y social, se encuentra en el ámbito patrimonial el medio idóneo para la salvaguarda de éste valioso oficio de arte. “Ruta Talabartera León”, busca la conservación y difusión del trabajo realizado por los maestros talabarteros de la Ciudad. A través de una ruta interpretativa guiada, la cual parte de Cámara de la Industria del Estado de Guanajuato (CICEG), y continuando por el barrio que vio nacer esta actividad, el recorrido concluye en el centro histórico. Con miras a beneficiar a los productores locales y poner en valor a un sector base de la identidad de toda una comunidad, “Ruta Talabartera León”, pretende posicionarse como proyecto clave del desarrollo y conservación patrimonial.

In the absence of initiatives in the leather and footwear sector as well as the economic and social sector, the patrimonial field is the ideal means for the safeguarding of this valuable craft of art. “Ruta Talabartera León”, seeks the conservation and dissemination of the work done by the city's master saddlers. Through a guided interpretive route, which starts from the Chamber of Industry of the State of Guanajuato (CICEG), and continuing through the neighborhood where this activity was born, the tour concludes in the historic center. With a view to benefiting local producers and enhancing a sector based on the identity of an entire community, “Ruta Talabartera León”, it intends to position itself as a key project for the development and conservation of heritage.
