| es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | The objective of this work is to analyze the association of stress and its coping style with mental symptoms and well-being in the military, analyzing the differences in these variables with respect to a control group. The sample is made up of 98 people between the ages of 23 and 55, 49 of whom are active military and another 49 are not military and are the control group. All were evaluated using 9 questionnaires. It was found that stress in the military was not associated with mental symptoms, although more chronic stress and daily setbacks were associated with less control of the environment and purpose in life. There were no differences between the military group and the control group in stress, but the military had a less emotional style of coping with stress, less anxiety, somatic and depressive symptoms, less satisfaction with their work role, and greater well-being and social support instrumental. It is concluded that mental symptoms and life satisfaction are not affected by stress in the military and, although their satisfaction with the job role is lower than in non-military people, they report greater well-being. | en |
