El rol de la mujer en los libros de texto de Geografía e Historia de 2º de ESO: La Prehistoria y el mundo indígena de Canarias como paradigmas

Abstract

A pesar de los avances conseguidos en materia de igualdad de oportunidades, el sexismo continúa estando presente en las aulas y en los materiales didácticos de nuestro país. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar aquellos libros de texto de 2º de ESO publicados después de la aprobación de la última ley educativa para ver cómo se representa el papel de la mujer en el discurso histórico que se hace de la Prehistoria y del mundo indígena de Canarias. Para ello, se analizarán los elementos patrimoniales, el papel de la mujer en el discurso histórico, el uso que se hace del lenguaje en los manuales de texto, los roles de género en las ilustraciones y las actividades desde una perspectiva de género. Asimismo, se analizará el currículo de Geografía e Historia con el objetivo de comprobar si las disposiciones en materia de igualdad se representan en los materiales didácticos. Por último, también se analizará el programa enSeñas, por tratarse de un recurso muy utilizado entre el profesorado, con el objetivo de observar el material didáctico de apoyo existente para las etapas en las que se centra este estudio.

Abstract: Despite the progress made in terms of equal opportunities, sexism continues to be present in the classrooms and in the teaching materials of our country. The objective of this study is to analyze those textbooks of 2nd of ESO published after the approval of the last educational law to see how the role of women is represented in the historical discourse that is made of Prehistory and the indigenous world of Canary Islands. For this, heritage elements, the role of women in historical discourse, the use of language in textbooks, gender roles in illustrations and activities from a gender perspective are analyzed. Likewise, to analyze the Geography and History curriculum in order to analyze whether equality provisions are represented in teaching materials. Lastly, enSeñas program will also be analyzed, as it is a widely used resource among teachers, with the aim of observing the existing support teaching material for the stages in which this study focuses.
