Proyecto Camelar: proyecto de sensibilización hacia las mujeres gitanas en materia de salud: emocional, física y ginecológica.

Abstract

El "Proyecto Camelar" es un proyecto de intervención que pretende la sensibilización de las mujeres gitanas en cuestiones de salud física, emocional y ginecológica. Por motivos culturales, la etnia gitana delega muchas responsabilidades sobre la mujer gitana. Son las encargadas de la transmisión de valores, las tareas domésticas, el cuidado del hogar, de los hijos y de la familia, dejando en último lugar la salud propia. Por ello, el interés del proyecto es alcanzar los objetivos planteados: conocer la cultura y las costumbres de la mujer gitana para un mejor planteamiento de las intervenciones, dotar a las mujeres de formación en salud mental, física y ginecológica a través de profesionales especializados en salud. A lo largo del proyecto se tratarán temas como: la ansiedad, el miedo y la tristeza, el ejercicio físico y la importancia de realizarse revisiones ginecológicas y mamarias frecuentes como método preventivo de posibles enfermedades. Y, por último, la finalidad que tiene el “Proyecto Camelar” es transmitir la importancia vital de cuidar de sí mismas y conseguir así un empoderamiento femenino en términos de salud, haciendo hincapié en el autocuidado emocional y personal. En este proyecto se empleará una metodología participativa y experiencial, donde se tendrá en cuenta la propia experiencia de las usuarias y las expectativas y conocimientos previos de las mismas, realizando una intervención flexible debido al gran arraigo que poseen estas mujeres por su cultura y sus costumbres. Se pretende que las mujeres gitanas sean promotoras del cambio, lleven la formación de la que se les ha dotado a su vida cotidiana, y como responsables de la transmisión cultural y de valores que son dentro de la comunidad gitana que sean ellas mismas las que transfieran a las siguientes generaciones la importancia de la salud física, emocional y ginecológica.

The “Camelar Project” is an intervention project that pretends to sensibilize gypsy women in health matters: physically, emotionally and gynecological to improve themselves forming them and sensibilising them in health. Due to cultural motives, the gypsy ethnicity delegates most of its responsibilities on the gypsy women. They are in charge of transmitting values, domestic labour, home care, the care of childs and family, leaving in last place their own health. Therefore, the interest of our project is reaching the desired objectives: learn about the culture and traditions of gypsy women for a better approach on interventions, provide women of formation in mental, physical and gynecologal health through professionals specialized in health, such a gynecologist and a psychologist. Through out the project topics such as: anxiety, anger and sadness, physical exercise and the importance of gynecological and mammary checks frequently as a preventive method from possible illnesses, will be discussed. Finally, the purpose of the “Camelar Project '' is to transmit the vital importance of taking care of yourself, empowering gypsy women in health terms, giving extra importance to emotional and personal care. In this project the previous experience from the users, their expectations and knowledge will be taken into consideration, realizing a flexible intervention due to the rooting that these women possess from their culture and their traditions. Gypsy women pretend to be promoters of change, to carry the training they have been given to their daily lives, and as responsible for the cultural transmission and values that are within the gypsy community, they themselves transfer to the next generations the importance of physical, emotional and gynecological health
