Perfil del turista pos-Covid 19 en destinos de sol y playa: el caso del sur de Tenerife

Abstract

Resumen: En los últimos años el perfil del turista ha evolucionado, alentado por la transformación digital. Sin embargo, en 2020 se produjo una paralización mundial del turismo causada por el COVID-19, siendo necesario conocer cómo evoluciona el perfil del turista ante esta situación. De esta forma, mediante el análisis de los datos estadísticos de la encuesta de gasto turístico del ISTAC de los años 2019 y 2020, así como con el análisis de los destinos de Turquía y Costa del Sol, se ha llegado a la conclusión de que el perfil del turista no va a cambiar significativamente. Sí es cierto que evitará los grandes gastos y se alojará principalmente en viviendas de familiares y amigos. Por otro lado, nos encontramos con un turista que exige ya el cuidado medioambiental del destino y que da mucha importancia a la seguridad sanitaria y a la existencia de espacios abiertos no masificados.

Abstract: In recent years, the tourist profile has evolved, encouraged by the digital transformation. However, in 2020 there was a global paralysis of tourism caused by COVID-19, and it is necessary to know how the tourist profile evolves in this situation. In this way, through the analysis of statistical data from the ISTAC tourism expenditure survey for 2019 and 2020, as well as the analysis of the destinations of Turkey and Costa del Sol, it has been concluded that the tourist profile will not change significantly. It is true that they will avoid big expenses and will mainly stay with family and friends. On the other hand, we are faced with a tourist who is already demanding environmental care of the destination and who gives great importance to health safety and the existence of open spaces that are not overcrowded.
