Conocimientos sobre biodiversidad marina en Canarias que poseen los futuros y futuras docentes de Educación Infantil.

Abstract

En las proximidades de las Islas Canarias pueden encontrarse hasta 26 especies marinas diferentes. Entre ellas están el cachalote, el delfín mular, la tortuga boba, o los calderones. Es así como las islas se han convertido en el lugar de Europa más importante para la observación de cetáceos y tortugas marinas en libertad. Creemos que es de vital importancia poseer un grado mínimo de interés por el conocer estos datos, incluso más si se trata de un acontecimiento tan cercano a nuestros hogares. Si consideramos importante la existencia de estos conocimientos en la población, aún más los valoramos entre los futuros docentes de Educación Infantil. Serán ellos quienes tendrán la oportunidad de hacer conocedores a niños y niñas sobre este gran mundo marino. Como ya mencionamos, se trata de un tema no comúnmente frecuentado. Mucho menos si hablamos de grados universitarios que no estén destinados a esta rama del conocimiento. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es conocer el grado de información que los futuros y futuras docentes de infantil poseen acerca del mundo marino. También, nos planteamos como objetivo conocer el grado de importancia que estos le brindan a este tema, y si en su futuro docente estarán dispuestos a brindar de este conocimiento a sus alumnos y alumnas. Para alcanzar estos objetivos, hemos utilizado un cuestionario como instrumento de investigación, el cual irá dirigido a estos futuros y futuras docentes de Educación Infantil.

Up to 26 different marine species can be found in the vicinity of the Canary Islands. Among them are the sperm whale, the bottlenose dolphin, the loggerhead turtle, the hammerhead shark or the calderones. This is how the islands have become the most important place in Europe for the observation of cetaceans and sea turtles in freedom. We believe that it is of vital importance to have a minimum degree of interest in knowing this data, even more so if it is an event so close to our homes. If we consider the existence of this knowledge important in the population, we value it even more among the future teachers of Early Childhood Education. Because it will be they who will have the opportunity to acquaint children with this great marine world. As we have already mentioned, this topic is not commonly used. Much less if we speak of university degrees that are not destined for this branch of knowledge. The main objective of this work is to know the degree of information that future and future teachers of children have about the marine world. We also aim to know the degree of importance they give to this topic, and whether in their future teacher will be willing to provide this knowledge to their students. To achieve these objectives, we have used a questionnaire as a research method, which will be aimed at these future and future teachers of Early Childhood Education.
