Asimismo, los efectos socioeconómicos provocados por la COVID-19 han paralizado por completo el turismo y han dejado a la vista un incierto futuro para este. Evidenciando la necesidad de implantar un modelo turístico mucho más sostenible y respetuoso, que garantice la supervivencia del sector a largo plazo. Aquí entra en juego el gran potencial como exportador en materia de sostenibilidad del archipiélago. Pues, sus características geográficas y climáticas revelan la existencia de numerosos espacios naturales únicos y una amplia biodiversidad. Así, la inversión resulta un instrumento primordial para lograr este propósito y mejorar la competitividad del destino turístico. Precisando un análisis de las diferentes fuentes de financiación públicas y privadas, exclusivas para el sector.
