Estudio del sector turístico en Gran Canaria

Abstract

La hipótesis conceptual de partida que se plantea en este estudio es la posibilidad de valorar el impacto económico que sobre la economía del sector turístico en Gran Canaria han tenido la secuencia de quiebra de la compañía aérea británica Thomas Cook, el Brexit y las restricciones de movilidad impuestas para paliar la transmisión del Coronavirus. Se analizará el perfil del turista por nacionalidad, ingresos y gastos Como objetivos secundarios se pretende identificar y analizar las oscilaciones periódicas de largo y corto plazo en los indicadores con los que trabajaremos según origen de los flujos turísticos y valorar las diferencias de su magnitud entre esos diferentes orígenes. Como material empírico para la realización del estudio se emplean las series cronológicas o temporales históricas con información acumulada trimestral durante el período 2015-2020 disponibles con acceso público en las bases de datos estadísticos del Instituto Canario de Estadística (ISTAC). Se hipotetiza con un posible estancamiento de los servicios turísticos que se ofrecen, al visualizarse durante la realización del trabajo que los turistas que llegan a la isla tienen cada vez más poder adquisitivo, no obstante, los gastos medios por turistas y los gastos medios diarios por turistas se mantienen casi iguales durante todo el periodo.

It is hypothesized with a possible stagnation of the tourist services that are offered, when it is visualized during the performance of the work that the tourists who come to the island have more and more purchasing power, however, the average expenses per tourists and the average daily expenses per tourists stay almost the same throughout the period.
