Un paso más hacia un mundo entre iguales.

Abstract

La inmigración en España, y más concretamente en las Islas Canarias, se ha incrementado a lo largo de estos años y esto afecta a la forma de entender la educación intercultural. Ante esta situación, cabe hacerse dos preguntas: ¿Es eficaz la educación que recibe el alumnado? ¿Y se educa teniendo en cuenta esa diversidad cultural que claramente nos rodea? En nuestro día a día, podemos presenciar cierto rechazo a la acogida de los inmigrantes que llegan al territorio, y esas actitudes responden en cierta manera a estas dos preguntas. En este proyecto de innovación, se proponen diferentes actividades formativas, talleres y recursos con la meta de ayudar a eliminar las exclusiones que se puedan producir hacia los inmigrantes, además de facilitar la labor educativa y fomentar una tolerancia hacia la coexistencia de diferentes culturas. Está destinado a todas aquellas personas que formen parte de la comunidad educativa en el segundo ciclo de infantil (3-6 años), es decir, agentes educativos, alumnado y familias inmigrantes.

Immigration in Spain and, more specifically, in the Canary Islands, has increased in the past years, and this has affected the way in which intercultural education is understood. In view of the present situation, two questions are pertinent: Is the education received by students effective? And is the cultural diversity that certainly surrounds us taken into consideration in educational planning? A certain amount of rejection to the reception of immigrants can be perceived in our society, and those attitudes could signal the answer to the two questions posed above. This teaching innovation project offers different educational activities, workshops, and other resources which aim at eliminating potential exclusion of immigrants, while facilitating educational performance and encouraging tolerance at the coexistence of different cultures. It is aimed at all members of the educational community related to the second cycle of pre-primary education (children between the ages of 3 and 6), that is, educational agents, students, and immigrant families.
