Abrupto: una propuesta editorial en torno al soporte del fotolibro

Abstract

Abrupto: una propuesta editorial entorno al soporte del fotolibro es un proyecto editorial y fotográfico centrado en la investigación y el desarrollo de la imagen en la escena artística contemporánea post-documental, así como su adaptación técnica a un medio de divulgación y comunicación factible. Actualmente, el fotolibro se presenta como el soporte más adecuados para entender, exponer y escuchar los relatos con contienen las imágenes. El diseño, en este caso, tiene un papel fundamental como principal estructurador, articulador y narrador del espacio visual, incidiendo claramente en nuestra percepción como observadores , lectores y participantes, evidenciándonos también como posibles productos , muy a menudo inconscientes y damnificados por el continuo curso de los acontecimientos. Asumiendo el papel del diseño dentro del espacio de la creación de libros de fotografías, se ha decidido investigar entorno al relato de uno de los mayores atentados medioambientales y paisajísticos de las Islas Canarias, Las Canteras de Güímar. Partiendo de esta narración se elaborará un trabajo fotográfico acorde con las derivas artísticas post-dicumentales del contexto contemporáneo, poniendo de manifiesto la eficacia de la imagen visual como elemento discursivo en el panorama editorial actual y su traslación a un soporte editorial como lo es el fotolibro.

Abrupto: an editorial proposal around the support of the photobook is an editorial and photographic project focused on the research and development of the image in the contemporary post-documentary art scene, as well as its technical adaptation to a feasible means of dissemination and communication. Currently, the photobook is presented as the most appropriate support to understand, expose and listen to the stories contained in the images. Design, in this case, has a fundamental role as the main structurer, articulator and narrator of the visual space, clearly influencing our perception as observers, readers and participants, also showing us as possible products, very often unconscious and damaged by the continuous course of events. Assuming the role of design within the space of the creation of photography books, it has been decided to investigate around the story of one of the greatest environmental and landscape attacks of the Canary Islands, Las Canteras de Güímar. Based on this narrative, a photographic work will be elaborated in accordance with the post-documentary artistic drifts of the contemporary context, highlighting the effectiveness of the visual image as a discursive element in the current editorial panorama and its translation to an editorial support such as the photobook.
