El debate sobre la débil nacionalización en España y el concepto nación. Una revisión crítica e historiográfica

Abstract

La aparición de las tesis de la débil nacionalización durante la década de los noventa supuso un importante hito en la historiografía española dedicada a estudiar el nacionalismo, más concretamente el español. Durante mucho tiempo, el estudio de este tema había sido relegado en detrimento de otros, por lo que dichas teorías hay que valorarlas por la importancia que tienen al haber revitalizado los estudios sobre el nacionalismo español y su relación con los otros llamados "alternativos". Multitud de autores han estado aportando durante las dos últimas décadas interesante material historiográfico, que no solo apoyaban o contradecían dicha tesis de una nación débil, sino que apuntaban además nuevas formas de entender el nacionalismo. Esto permite abordar este problema histórico desde nuevos puntos de vistas, proporcionando interesantes herramientas metodológicas que proporcionan no solo más información, sino poder reformular el propio concepto de nación.

The appearance of the thesis about the weak nationalisation during the 90’s decade was an important landmark in the spanish historiography dedicate to study the nationalism, specifically the spanish. For a long time, the study of this issue had been delegated above others, because of this there’s a need to value them for the importance that they had in the revitalization of the studies about the spanish nationalism and their connection with the others called “alternatives”. Many authors have been contributed for the last two decades with interesting historiographic materials that supported or contradict this thesis about the weak nationalisation and indicate new forms to understand the nationalism too. This allow to deal with this historic problem from new perspectives, providing interesting methodological tools that supply more information and allow to reformulate the nation concept itself
