Los fondos estructurales de la UE con especial referencia al FEDER y su aplicación a Canarias.

Abstract

The porpuse of this Project is to study and analyze the Structural Funds of the European Union, with an especial mention to the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), referring to its legal regulation, aplication, objectives and expectations. In additon, we will study the Programming Period of the European Funds 2021-2027 that will be carried out. On the other hand, we will study the funds that are applied in the Canary Islands due to its Outermost Regions condition, recognized on the article 349 of the Treaty of the Funtioning of the European Union, which are those regions that due to their graphical location and negative characteristics will opt for specific grants to deal with their special challenges. The ERDF must contribute to correct the main regional imbalances within the Union, which happen in this regiones due to their remoteness.

El presente trabajo tiene como objeto el estudio y análisis de los Fondos Estructurales de la Unión Europea, con especial mención al Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER), haciendo referencia a su regulación legal, ámbito de aplicación, objetivos y expectativas que se prevén en los territorios en los que se presta. Además, se hará un estudio del Periodo de Programación de los Fondos Europeos 2021-2027. Por otro lado, haremos referencia a la aplicación de los fondos en el Archipiélago Canario, dada su condición de Región Ultraperiférica, regulada en el artículo 349 del Tratado de Funcionamiento de la Unión Europea, que constituyen aquellas regiones que, por su situación geográfica y características que perjudican significativamente a su desarrollo optarán a ayudas específicas para hacer frente a sus desafíos especiales. En este sentido, el FEDER debe contribuir a la corrección de los principales desequilibrios regionales dentro de la Unión, que se presentan en estas regiones dada su lejanía.
